I disagree, Mr. President. Mothering isn’t the hardest job. Parenting is. And if we’re ever going to get past the gender gap in this country, we need to shift our thinking about mothering vs. parenting.

Image description: the Avengers parade in the style of Sendak’s Where the Wild Things Are,drawn sort of like children, I guess? Left to right: Captain America saluting; Iron Man (well, yes, obviously children have scruffy goatees) with Loki’s staff; Black Widow with a grey banner reading “Shield!”; Hawkeye looking kind of—suspiciously at Hulk behind him? Seriously, I don’t know what his deal is; Hulk drawn as one of the Wild Things, about twice as big as everyone else; a very cheerful Thor brandishing his hammer; and Loki, head bowed and mouth covered, on a leash that Thor is holding (seriously? I’m not a Loki fangirl but that is way harsh, Tai).
Thus concludes our morning of adorable Avengers fan art. Maybe.
After filming 2011’s Thor, director Kenneth Branagh noticed that the prop hammer -Mjolnir - had gone missing, distressing the famous director who had planned to keep it as a memento. Actor Tom Hiddleston, a longtime friend of Branagh’s, is reported to have taken the prop. He currently has no plans to return it, and is “not sorry.”
A new video in which I discuss traditional marriage, religion, intersexuality, the idea of marriage as a covenant, and the legal rights of gay people to marry.
Thanks for being awesome, Mr Green.
Look at your man. Now back at Loki. Now back at your man. Now back to Loki. Sadly, he isn’t Loki. But if he stopped using lady-scented body wash and switched to Asgard Spice, he could smell like Loki. Look down. Back up. Where are you? You’re in Asgard with the god of mischief that your man could smell like. What’s in your hand? Back at Loki. He has it. It’s a casket from Jotunheim holding two tickets to that thing you love. Look again. The tickets are now diamonds. Anything is possible when your man smells like Asgard Spice and not a lady. Loki’s on a horse.

Religion and Gay Marriage (x)
John Green is one of my heroes
FUN FACTS!
There were 11th century same-sex “brother-making” rites which were basically same-sex marriages. The Catholic rite was called the Ordo ad fratres faciendum.
And 4th century Saints Sergius and Bacchus are a well-known same-sex coupling united through the rite of Adelphopoiesis. Again, it was essentially same-sex marriage.
The Orthodox Church isn’t terribly keen on this interpretation these days, but the historical evidence is pretty solid. It is basically contested on the grounds of “Eww gay people, yucky!” I mean that literally. I had a debate with a very learned Antiochian Orthodox person and that was the heart of her argument.
This man is eloquent and right. Also he uses adorable stuffed creatures to illustrate things.
So what you may not have realized is that the casting of Lucy Liu as “Joan” Watson in Elementary was just the first step in a plot by Hollywood to ruin ALL your bromances by inserting Lucy Liu.
Take White Collar, for instance. It’s well known for the slashy potential between the two male leads, even though both are canonically heterosexual. But wait!
IT’S LUCY LIU! WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO SHIP NOW?
It’s not just limited to TV, either. How about one of the classic ships, one that practically invented slash?
HA! COCKBLOCKED!
Suits is a show about two dudebro lawyers who are totally gay for each oth-

Yes, America, We Have Executed an Innocent Man
At 11 p.m Monday, the Columbia University Human Rights Review published and posted its Spring 2012 issue — devoted entirely to a single piece of work about the life and death of two troubled and troublesome South Texas men. In explaining to their readers why an entire issue would be devoted to just one story, the editors of the Review said straightly that the “gravity of the subject matter of the Article and the possible far-reaching policy ramifications of its publication necessitated this decision.” […]
The Review article is an astonishing blend of narrative journalism, legal research, and gumshoe detective work. And it ought to end all reasonable debate in this country about whether an innocent man or woman has yet been executed in America since the modern capital punishment regime was recognized by the Supreme Court in 1976. The article is also a clear and powerful retort to Justice Scalia in Kansas v. Marsh: Our capital cases don’t have nearly the procedural safeguards he wants to pretend they do.
